Morning Pages - Viva the Bolshoi

For all my tom boy ways and attitudes I love watching the ballet. I love art, I guess, in all its forms. Yesterday I had the pleasure and delight of watching the Bolshoi perform 'Swan Lake'. OK it was on the TV but that is one of the bonuses of having channels dedicated to the arts. At last some of what is considered elitist arts are available for people like me who love them but but do not always have the opportunity of seeing the live versions. Art should be freely available to everyone who wishes to enjoy it. It should never have become something kept only for those with wealth or a Oxbridge degree. Art has the magic something that unites the classes brings different cultures and traditions together. Through art we can capture the sensations of vision, hearing and sometimes touch and taste to life. We learn abut history and maybe understand the present better. Maybe we even learn a little tolerance and compassion. The arts can capture emotion and hold it until the eye brings it to life. Maybe it helps us to better understand love, lust, hatred, fear and other powerful feelings. Maybe it helps us to begin to learn from them. I do not know I am an artist not a psychologist.
