I feel so alone in this hellish city. Yes, I have money from writing my books, I know. Maybe I should be grateful I have that all things considered. Count your blessings my mother used to say. It is so difficult to do that. The world is a hostile place for a woman like me. If I were married, raising children and living a lie I would be accepted. They would invite me to their dinners and afternoon teas in the garden. Perhaps even stop to chat or say hello. Instead, they talk so disparagingly about me. It is 1947 our men fought a war so we could all be free to be. I can never be free. I am a prisoner of my sexuality.

Morning Pages - Running Squirrel

The squirrel stores its nuts and acorns in preparation for the winter when food is scarce. Then spends though cold months scurrying about searching for his hidden store cupboards. The exercise keeps the chill from his bones, so I doubt it is just a forgetful mind that keeps him from his quarry. Are we humans as prepared for life and nature or have we gotten too used to convenience with food always available on supermarket shelves? Have our lives maybe become too cosseted?

And Its Goodnight From Me - Silver Sylvie
Silver is a pretty and dainty tabby and white queen cat. She is quite shy until she knows you. Her favourite human is Paul who she loves to curl up on with Tigger and Patch. Silver is very close to her brothers, William, TC, Crookshanks and Tigger. She loves to play with any kittens and is always willing to do the baby bathing. She will give the older cats a bath too if they stay still too long. Silver’s favourite sleep space is on my art drawer, which she will happily share with her brothers or Harlequin or Columbine. She loves kibble and isn’t fussy if it is meat or fish. She loves a nibble of cheese as a treat as well as milk and catnip buttons. Silver is very feminine in her manner, always a lady.

Morning Pages - A Moment of Peace

This landscape is so peaceful it seems to instantly relax the mind. It takes me back to hillside rambles with only bird song and the odd wild thing for company. No noisy traffic pumping endless pollution into the air, it is idyllic. A time when summer days were warm but not so hot you didn’t dare move. You could take a deep breath and smell nothing but freshness. I used to love summer picnics and just being at one with nature. It makes my heart break when I think there is precious little of this type of space left on our planet and what there is out there is slowly being suffocated by man’s greed for mass production and the need to be somewhere so fast. What beauty of the world are we leaving for our children, do we actually teach our children to respect the planet and all its life. My own sons would much rather sit in front of a computer screen than venture out of town to enjoy a moment of nature though I think they do try to accommodate there wacky mum and her green tree- hugger ways which is something I guess. Maybe I was the same and its just now as I am much older I see things from a different perspective
