Sometimes I think maybe life's obstacles are fate's sign posts to guide us back in the right direction. Being that creature human we are apt to getting it so very wrong at times.

As an artist a lot of my work involves what I call 'happy accidents. My medium of watercolour sometimes seems to have its own ideas how things should be, and frequently that doesn't concur with mine. Invariably, on those 'happy accidents' I am wrong and the paint has it spot on. So I have learned not to argue or fight with it.

I suppose writing can be the same if the ideas decide they want to do different to the writer, maybe not that sounds just a slightly nuts.
