My mother is English and my father was Cherokee, making me a half breed. My skin is darker than white, my hair natural dark and straight, my cheek bones high. I am Cherokee blood. I am not a Red Indian, do not insult me by calling me a Squaw, I am no white man's toy. I am proud to be Cherokee, Native American and Tribal. My beliefs are those taught to me by my paternal grandmother and my father, that we are part of the world and should respect mother earth and nature's wonderful gifts. My daddy was and is my greatest hero, influence and guide. Even after 6 years I miss his counsel and unwavering love. OK I was his princess and could do nothing wrong in his eyes. But given that he was my rock and gave me a wonderful heritage and a sense of right and wrong and honour. Being Cherokee has given me an ability to remain outwardly calm even cold and uncaring maybe, when inside I am in emotional turmoil. The Cherokee do not wear their hearts outside their sleeves.
